2nd Batch of One Year Post Graduate Diploma in Integrated
Geriatric Care was started on October 1st, 2004 was initiated by NISD.
This is a full time course of one-year duration. It includes theoretical
& practical sessions, internship and project work. Seminar presentation
and dissertations are other essential parts of the course. It also includes
papers on Geriatrics, Geriatric Health, Geriatric Management, Geriatric
Counselling, Geriatric Research and Social Policy and Planning. Each batch
consists of 20 students.
National Level One Month Certificate Course on Child
Protection is a new initiative of NISD. The first programme commenced
in 2004-05. The programme is specially designed for training street educators,
social workers, counsellors and other functionaries working in various
institutions for the welfare & protection of children throughout the
country. The course curriculum includes 3 weeks of intensive participatory
training to build the theoretical knowledge base of participants and 1
week of field exposure to institutions/ organizations working in the areas
of child protection. Broadly, the topics include Child Rights, Juvenile
Justice System, Roles and responsibilities of various functionaries under
Juvenile Justice System, Drug Abuse and HIV/AIDS among Children, Counselling
of Children in need of care & protection, etc.
