NISD conducts 4-day training programme on Outreach and Drop-In Centre (ODIC) at DAIC, New Delhi, 20-23 Nov, 2019

The National Institute of Social Defence organised a four-day training programme on Outreach and Drop-In Centre (ODIC) for the Training of Trainers (TOT) course at Dr Ambedkar International Centre, New Delhi, from November 20 to 23. The event, which was organised under the Targeted Intervention Project under NAPDDR (National Action Plan for Drug Demand Reduction), was inaugurated by Dr. Veerendra Mishra, Director, NISD. The aim of the programme was to train project staff members of implementing agencies from across northern part of India.

The resource persons included Bilal Ahmed, Dr. Alok Agarwal from AIIMS, and Dr. Sijo George, Project Manager, NAPDDR, who gave the participants an insight into Targeted Intervention (TI) programmes to work towards preventing substance use. The four-day training aimed at strengthening the trainees to successfully tackle issues related to substance abuse and substance-use disorders.
